In two books of similar elongated format, Galli’s home and studio are the subject. Ohne Titel (2011–13) is comprised of only eight pages, or nine individual scenes which extend over the double spread. The scenes focus on activities like cooking (with large vegetables), brushing one’s teeth, and mending clothes, but in each task fantastical forms accompany the action, while the scale of the figures and components are often drastically reimagined. In the comparatively longer Ohne Titel (2008–13), comprised of 123 pages in a commercially manufactured sketchbook, scenes are limited to individual pages or drawn over double spreads. Here, the action seems to continually revolve around one figure or object among others, or in individual repeated studies of common objects like utensils and scissors. In some scenes the various objects, anthropomorphized, convene together in conversation around a table. The book also features animal scenes in which cows, crows, wolves, and pigs gather both outside and within Galli’s apartment. The scenes of the artist’s bathroom—with a bathtub, washing machine, and hanging clothes—are true to life and somewhat vulnerable, as the figure assumed to be Galli floats in the bathtub.
